You know that Christmas is around the corner when Christmas hymms and songs fill the air, shopping malls are ablaze with festive decorations and shopping bags are filled with wrapped presents and gifts for loved ones!
Christmas has definitely arrived in 1-Utama Shopping Centre with its “Christmas Is Here” decorations. Gigantic is the theme for the decorations with giant poinsettia flowers and a towering modern Christmas tree of red and white baubles made up the enchanted garden in the centre court.
Huge albino spiders can be found hanging around the garden while big snowflakes sit underneath the Christmas tree.
Somehow this year’s decorations lack the magic and festivity of the season, perhaps due to the absence of a traditional Christmas tree?
Shoppers are invited to Princess Anastasia’s Mesmerizing Christmas Gala at The Curve. Patrons should visit the magnificent 40 feet high indoor castle complete with 4 soaring towers and decorated with various Christmas ornaments.
Passing through the portcullis, patrons will find themselves in the grand ballroom of the castle with a stage where Princess Anastasia holds her Christmas gala and musicals. Don’t miss the royal ball if you are at The Curve.
Once again, the giant 32-metre high Christmas tree graced the Esplanade at Suria KLCC. The majestic tree is all decked out in colourful baubles, garland leaves, snowflakes and star shaped LED lights.
As Christmas is also a season of gifting and giving, Suria KLCC is also raising funds for ANGSANAcare through the sales of gift boxes. ANGSANAcare is a non-profit organisation providing support and palliative care for underprivileged paediatric patients and their families.
Themed Santa’s Village, Suria’s decorations featured a cluster of small cottages and kiosks are squeezed into a cramped space as renovation work is taking place in the centre court.
Santa’s workshop is full of toys while his ever faithful and reliable reindeers are all ready to deliver the gifts to deserving good kids around the world :).
During the weekends till Christmas Day, Santa and Miss Santa will also make an appearance for photo sessions and they come bearing candy canes for children too.
With a theme of “Christmas Ever After” which is inspired by fairy tale fantasies, Pavilion KL has once again upped the ante when it comes to Christmas decorations. Shoppers are greeted with a 70 feet tall Spritzer Sparkling Tree at the Main Entrance. The tree is illuminated with LED lights and glittering Christmas ornaments when night falls.
A relatively empty Fantasy Train is seen going around the fountain. The cost for a ride on the train is RM10 and tickets can be bought at a booth set up just before the Main Entrance.
The mall concourse is turned into a magical kingdom with a Fairy Tale Castle as the centerpiece. This Frozen inspired castle is lit up with different colours on its transparent walls.
The main attraction is off course the world’s first Swarovski-Crystallised Merry Go Round which is adorned with 3 million Swarovski crystals on the floor, the horses and ‘trees’ at the top of the carousel. The carousel is definitely very popular as a queue can be seen all the time as eager children wait patiently for their turn to ride on the merry go round.
The photo booth is also very popular as patrons dressed up in red to capture a magical moment with friends and families.
So while you are doing your Christmas shopping, do enjoy the festive display in the malls.
Here’s wishing you real peace, real love, real joy at Christmas and always.
