Citadines Karasuma-Gojo Kyoto is a serviced residence or Apart’hotel in the heart of Kyoto. It is located just a few steps from one of the exits of Gojo station which is one stop from the main Kyoto station on the Karasuma subway line. It’s about 15 – 25min walk (depending on pace) from Kyoto station. Just exit the Kyoto staion via Central exit, cross the road towards Kyoto Tower Hotel and walk straight until you see a clock tower and a McDonalds. The hotel is just a few doors away from the McDonalds.
There is a 24-hour soba shop next to the hotel and another eatery on the same row as the hotel. There is also a 7-11 across the road. Hotel is about 30 – 40 min walk to Pontocho and Gion areas.
Stayed in a non-smoking studio double. It was spacious by Japanese hotel standards. There is a small coffee table and sofa in the apartment.
Bed is comfy and we had good night’s sleep. TV in the apartment has good selection of cable TV channels. Apart from TV, they also have DVD and a HiFi system. There is also a small workstation that comes with a LAN cable. Internet connection via cable is the norm in Japanese hotels. Apartment came with complimentary internet connection and in this hotel, there is WiFi.
Amenities in the apartment are excellent, it comes with a small but fully equipped kitchen complete with hot plate with hob & hood, pots & pans for light cooking, cutlery, toaster & microwave.
The bathroom is spotless. I guess the only thing missing is a washing machine!!
Front office staff spoke good English and they are friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was quite easy and fast. We managed to get a one hour extension on our check-out time as we were still doing our sightseeing in Kyoto on the last day.
Staying here feels like a home away from home. If I visit Kyoto again, I will not hesitate to stay here again.
